dvd: the masters of the water

bozo fishermen in mali

                                                  By Elisabeth den Otter

Two films evoke the daily life of the Bozo/Somono fishermen that live in Kirango, a village situated on the Niger river, 35 km from Ségou.

The first film shows the occupations of the men and women of the Karabenta family,

whereas the second film presents the activities of the people that live near the river: they wash (themselves), they play, and they fish.
